Crack a Heart of Stone

Hope/I move ahead bold and confident/Taking every step in obedience while I'm waiting/I will serve You and I will worship/I'll be running the race; even while I wait/I'm waiting on You Lord; I'm peaceful/It's not easy.

I will serve You while I'm waiting. I will worship while I'm waiting.

-John Waller, "While I'm Waiting."

It's not easy. God never promised that it would be. But His love is enduring. It's strong. Strong enough to crack a heart of stone and breathe life into death. It's so easy to just give up and go after things that don't fulfill; things which may seem fun, things which only cause heartache and bitterness. Even when we squander the wealth of salvation and mercy which He bestowes upon us, he stands waiting with His arms outstretched, ready to welcome us home. Islam has a God who is awesome and powerful, yet detatched from the people. Judaism has the God of wrath and condemnation for those who don't follow the strict codes laid out in the Torah. What do we have? We have a God who sent his son to bear a painful, agonizing death for humanity. "The Godhead three in one: Father, Spirit, Son." God sent a part of himself to die for us. If that isn't love, I don't know what is. I often have customers who are sceptical and say that "nobody gives something for nothing." The Lord does. He gives love, mercy, compassion, and hope for eternal life. No longer can an army rage against me, no longer can the evil one harm me.

To those who feel as if they can't approach God for past wrongs, or who feel that there's no point to even bothering...think again. The enemy wants you to think that way, he wants you to feel worthless and alone. Luna Lovegood once said "...if I was going after someone, I'd want them to feel completely and utterly alone." Thing is, even when you feel alone or like you don't matter to God, you do. You're not alone. You're loved so much more than you can even begin to fathom. Don't worry, He's waiting, He'll never leave you or forsake you, and He'll NEVER stop trying to reach you and give His fatherly love to his hurting child.

ps-check out John Waller. He's on the 'Fireproof' soundtrack and he's pretty cool!
