Reckless Letting Go--it's hard to bear

We stand on the edge of what we need--yet we cling to what we see. It's so hard to walk that line between what we think is our plan and what the Father's plan is for us. From personal experience, when God shows that He is sovereign by completely wrecking our plans or by changing our plans so that it messes up our timing, we're often left blindsided. What's going on? What is tomorrow going to bring? We spend all this time wondering and worrying and over thinking things so much that it makes us physically ill. But why?

We have absolutely nothing to worry about.

In the book of Matthew, Christ tells us that we ought not worry. Coming from personal experience, it's much easier said than done; but also from experience, I can say that waiting on the Lord and the fulfillment of His promises and plans for us is beyond words. If the Father takes care of birds and sees that they are looked after--why wouldn't he do the same of us? The best part about our walk with Christ is that He's already got tomorrow--and the next day. And the day after that. And after that. If you couple that with what we're told in Romans 8:38-39 (NOTHING can separate us from the love of Christ), what do we have to worry about? Like I said, nothing! There may come times in our walk that we stumble and fall, but thankfully we are loved by a wonderful Savior. Because of that love, there will come times when it feels like He is ignoring us or making things difficult. In reality, He's disciplining us out of His love for us. If our earthly ways are left unchecked, how can we draw nearer to Him?

To anybody reading this, I challenge you. As a matter of fact, I'm taking part in this challenge. Will you let go of anything and everything you have planned and embrace the plans of the Father? It is so easy to say that we will, but the application is always hard. Take it one step at a time--even take it 1 minute at a time. Resolve to live the next sixty seconds for God. And then the next sixty. And so on. We should be so on fire for Christ that we don't find rest until we rest in Him. Are you up to the challenge?
