...and sometimes when I think it's not always a good thing. I'm incredibly spastic and what may seem like a good idea tends to get a look like this face from a lot of people: o.0
Yup. You know what kind of face that is. To get back to what I was thinking about (remember--spaz), the Glory of God is a subject oft talked about and pondered over, but never really experienced. To be honest, we as humans can only catch a glimpse in this life so me trying to sum it all up in one little blog post is going to get nowhere really fast. But that's the amazing part about God's Glory--if we've only seen glimpses that are powerful enough to reduce us to our knees in awe of Him, imagine what eternity with our Father will be like! The other day my pastor and I went snowshoeing out at Baptist Park and one of the things he wanted me to focus on was simply looking at the beauty and majesty of His creation--this earth. It's BREATHTAKING! Things that are right in front of us with complex, striking beauty--all done by the hand of a God who created this entire universe but can also create intricate details of trees, leaves, animals, and especially people.
Nature is the most obvious image of God's Glory. Well, at least in my mind. Where I live it's everywhere--we can't escape it. I'll even admit I tune it out most of the time because I'm so accustomed to it, but what about the other types of Glory in this world? We, as humans, are made in God's image--all 6 billion of us. I'm not going to get into the whole children versus creation debate, and where I stand on the issue is of no relevance to the fact that we were all made to worship him. It's heartbreaking that billions don't call upon the name of the Lord, but at the same time LOOK at how different we all are! God knew what he was doing when he created man. To be able to have all of these different ways that we look, speak, think, like, love, dislike...it's incredible. This blog has been deliberately vague (and to people who can't follow me well, random and haphazard) because I want you, the reader, to get thinking. What are some ways that we see God's glory in our day to day lives? It doesn't need to be some big, elaborate answer--it could be a smile from a loved one, knowing God used you to make a difference, a beautiful sunrise, peaceful snowfall (for the record...the snowfall here is NOT peaceful). However you see it, I pray that you actually seek it. Go to God and ask Him to reveal a glimpse of His glory and use it to teach you. Reread the story of creation in Genesis--we've been taught it for years, but go back and marvel at the powerful yet intricately careful works of God. You won't be disappointed.
